Opening Hours

Mon - Fri: 9AM - 5PM

So, in “reinventing my life” I have taken course after course and not really gotten busy and made any money with any of it.  Hahaha,  fuck, who needs money? said no one ever…

Anyway, here I am now taking my 200 hour Yoga teacher training to add to the arsenal of my knowledge and expertise.  First it was Home Staging, then Health Coach, then Life Coach, then Isha Institute and Sadhguru Inner Engineering which has now led me to Yoga.  Yay!!  Where will all of this take me?  I have no idea at all, I’m just following my gut instinct and hoping that eventually it will lead me where I need to be and to also make some money and travel and teach and stay calm and centred every day.  Ultimately, that’s what I really want to teach.  All the things that lead to a calm, productive, happy and joyful life.

Some might think that that isn’t possible and that happiness and joy are fleeting.  When we’re in a state of depression and/or overwhelm calm seems like a distant dream that wasn’t meant to be.  I’ve been there. I still go there sometimes, just not for as long or as deep into it as I used to.  To me that’s progress and and where I want to keep going with it.  I also very much want to teach all of these things to women that have gone through big life changes that bring on that sense of overwhelm and dismay. Sometimes it’s not even big life changes that bring on overwhelm.  It can be a whole number of things, and sometimes it’s just ingrained into one’s DNA to be miserable, and you have the power to change that too.

I was having dinner with a friend recently that suggested that everything comes down to DNA and I didn’t interrupt her and just let her talk.  I’m pretty sure she meant that many conditions are predisposed, like some cancers and diabetes and heart conditions and a whole slew of other ailments.  I also know that many of these conditions can be avoided by a change in attitude and that includes everything about life attitude.  What you eat, how you sleep, exercise in the form of some daily movement as simple as walking and time spent outdoors.  Mostly it’s got so much to do with stress management!  Studies have shown that STRESS can cause 90% of what ails us.  Stress eating, stress drinking, worry over things we can’t control like the outcome of something or other people’s actions.  So many things that are out of our control cause us stress and lead to illnesses.  Autoimmune disorders are right up there with the big ones that are caused by stress.  Some might say that the DNA can’t be changed and in many ways that is true, but habits can be changed, and often times the bad habits that have been passed down from generation to generation, can absolutely be changed.  The secret sauce is to recognise what those bad things are and take the responsibility to make the changes.  Also, making those changes will help to end the cycle from moving on in the generations to come.  This means responsible parenting.  Yeash!!  This is a really big rabbit hole to go down but totally worth it when we start to see and feel the changes it can make in our personal and professional lives.

Speaking of parenting rabbit holes, I’m still in one.  I try not to worry about my kids and trust that things will all turn out okay in all the ways in their lives.  They don’t have the greatest DNA when it comes to the Cancer thing and that does cause me a little concern when I can see that they aren’t doing all the things to avoid it, and even  if they/we do all the things there still are no guarantees on any of it.

Really….Just living in the moment and incorporating the things that we can into our daily lives that just make us feel better in positive ways is really all any of us can do to live our best lives.

From The Inside Out, with love.
